Narumi Yoshida, CPA/PFS®, CFP®, EA

Founder and CEO of Yoshida Wealth Management, Inc.

Narumi Yoshida takes great pride in forging long-term relationships with clients. In 2019, after realizing the frequency with which his own family, friends, colleagues and tax clients sought his expertise and insights in their finances, he founded Yoshida Wealth Management.

Born and raised in Shizuoka, Japan, he assisted in maintaining the books for his parent’s business before moving to New York to focus on his studies. After a stint pursuing dance, he reflected on his experiences in finance and bookkeeping for his parents, and decided to pursue a degree in Accounting from Baruch College. Shortly after graduating he became the head accountant for the offices of George Y. Hara.

The experiences with George Y. Hara and assisting clients through events like the financial crisis of 2008 inspire the philosophy and approach of Yoshida Wealth Management.

He continues the legacy started by George Y. Hara in 1979 to this day, managing the affairs of the, now, Hara Yoshida Accounting with George’s son Edward Hara, supporting the Japanese community, the New York community-at-large, and clients around the country.

He has grown in his assurance that he can make a positive impact and provide the greatest help in accounting, tax planning and wealth management services. As a native-Japanese speaker, he can relate to the daunting complexities of finances in a second language and he thrives in helping clients understand their financial situations in their native language. He looks forward to developing long and fruitful partnerships with clients and welcomes you to contact him and his team for an introductory consultation.

Meet our Team

Ms. Nakamura

Executive Assistant

I began my relationship with the company when I was a client of Mr. Hara’s. Now years later I joined our team in 2015. I hope to provide you with a warm welcome as I am typically the first person our clients have contact with. I specialize in Bookkeeping, Payroll, Sales Tax and assist Mr. Yoshida with various administrative projects.

Ms. Tagawa

Associate Accountant

My adventurous streak led me to new horizons and a new career in New York! I started as an Associate Accountant with HYA after completing my studies at Baruch College. Prior to HYA, I worked as a producer for a movie distribution company in Tokyo, Japan. I look forward to using my diverse background with clients to better serve each of you.

Ms. Ichikawa

Office Assistant

I joined HYA in 2020 and specialize in Payroll and Bookkeeping. I believe in providing our clients responsive and accurate service with Japanese-style courtesy and respect. My favorite pets are cats and in my free time I enjoy playing the piano.

Ms. Mastrantonakis

Operations Manager

I joined HYA in 2016 as Mr. Yoshida took over management of the company. My role is to run HYA’s internal operations in order to help the rest of our team focus their attention on what is most important…the clients! I lived in Tokyo, Japan for two years and enjoy practicing my Japanese in the office.

Giving back

A huge reason for founding my own financial planning and wealth management business was to generate potential for a greater social impact. Our business donates at least 1% of our gross annual revenues to organizations and charitable groups including UNICEF and various climate change initiatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Currently, we only offer tax preparation services to Yoshida Wealth Management clients.

Fee-only financial planners are registered investment advisors with a fiduciary responsibility to act in their clients’ best interest. We do not accept any fees or receive compensation from a brokerage firm, mutual fund, insurance company or any other source besides you. Because our sole compensation comes directly from you (our client), our only loyalty is to you. We do not sell any proprietary financial products and always act as advocates for you to identify the most cost effective and appropriate solutions to help you meet your goals.

We provide transparency to our fee schedule on our website and openly state our fees in our customer agreements. Before committing to an engagement, our clients know exactly what they will pay for the advice and investment management services they will receive.

We believe a sound investment portfolio strikes an adequate balance between the risks of the portfolio, an investors’ s willingness to assume risk and financial capacity to bear risk. We harmonize these traits by consistently reviewing the holdings in our clients’ portfolios and maintaining open-ended dialogue with our clients about their risk tolerance and financial capacity.

We utilize fundamental research techniques to select a diversified pool of liquid investments which are then back-tested using quantitative risk management methods. This process allows us to develop an optimal weighting of investments designed to target a specific risk/return profile. We actively monitor company specific and macroeconomic news and research to consistently update our portfolio models. We periodically review and rebalance client accounts to reflect amendments to the target model portfolios and to maintain harmony with a client’s risk tolerance.

If you are a financial planning client, we waive the minimum investment account requirement. If you are an investment only client, our minimum investment account requirement is $500,000.

Yes. We believe that everyone should have financial goals and every goal needs a plan. If you want to manage your own assets or already have an outside asset manager we’d be happy to work with you to develop your financial plan.

Our minimum investment account requirement is $500,000.

For clients participating in our Investment Management Services with $750,000 or more in AUM, Financial Life Planning will be provided at no additional charge.
